Property Refurbishment - Winchester
Located in the heart of Hampshire, this high-end project required considerable preparation and planning to achieve its end goal; creating a new style and design for the home.
New front bays and a side extension were installed by Chapmans Builders before an overhaul of the property's windows ensued. Together these projects helped carefully move the building away from its 1970s heritage and introduce a modern feel, albeit one with a considered nod to the past.
It was key for the customer to select a luxury window product that would not only enhance the home's functionality but at the same time increase its thermal performance and security. Bringing out its undoubted character and charm was also going to be important.
Storm 2 windows, a timber alternative product by Evolution, was selected for its joinery timber window aesthetic and the welcome bonus of no ongoing maintenance costs.
With so many windows across the property, it was key to strike a balance and ensure there would be no future worries about painting and maintenance costs.
Rococo were heavily involved throughout the design process, producing a series of photoshopped images that illustrated the various design-options available. Through a series of meetings, we were able to explore various configuration options, as well as the popular Georgian bar layout.
This input helped the client to visualise a potential outcome and make decisions with increased confidence. They proved to be correct ones.
Timber Alternative Windows into an Old Grain Store Conversion - Hampshire
Rococo have worked on many wonderful properties over the course of our two decades in business but this Grain Store conversion ranks as one of our finest.
We worked alongside the homeowner to transform their Hampshire base, selecting a window product which worked in an aesthetic and functional sense.
Using Evolution Storm windows, Rococo installed them in French Grey, delivering a wonderful effect in the process. We also colour coordinated the internal kitchen windows to match that of the new kitchen. A slightly different colour was adopted throughout the rest of this family home, underlining its rooms’ functional use.
Uplifting and Refreshing a Home in West Wellow
During our consultation process it became clear that our customers were keen to keep the same design and style as the windows due to be replaced. Retaining the key features associated with a traditional timber window was then important.
In addition our client was keen to refresh and uplift their home and wanted to introduce a colour which would work well with a new render slated for the outside of their property later in the year.
Storm Evolution 2 windows have a standard colour range with includes Agate Grey. Once our client viewed the products in our showroom, they had no doubt this was right product for their home.
With a deep framework and the Ovolo/Putty design of the Georgian mimicking the originals, they were confident the final product would deliver on all counts… performance, security and aesthetics.
In addition to windows, our customer wanted to bring more light into their main living area and connect it with their garden courtyard. Rococo’s expert team set about removing the French doors and knocking out the remaining brick work. They then focused on removing some brick courses at the base so that the track for the new bi folding door set could drop below floor level. This meant that a new 3 part bi-folding door set could be installed with a virtually flush threshold.
Re-Installing Character and Charm in Fair Oak
If ever there was a case study to show how Storm Evolution windows, English Door Company Entrance doors and French doors could be used to great effect this is it.
Our customer had long been reluctant to change their windows despite a desperate need to update timber windows rotten and beyond repair. They actually came close a couple of years earlier when contemplating white UPVC. Thankfully their desire to maintain the character and charm of their home shone through and this decision was deferred whilst they searched the market. Finally they were recommended to come and have a look at those windows featured in the Rococo showroom.
The Storm Evolution products were exactly what they were after; a fantastic replacement for timber windows, which also maintained the character and traditional aspects of the home. Added thermal performance and the thought of no ongoing convinced them this was the right and only choice.
