Pinterest is an aggregator for all of the different styles, forums and websites out there. People find things that they like and pin them to ‘boards’ that consist of specific interests and genres. Pinterest is really popular in the design, creative and craft worlds and is an amazing place for inspiration.

Starting simply, you can create an account on Pinterest and do a search for “Interior design”, Pinterest will return all of the pins that it thinks are relevant to your search, giving you a great basis for inspiration.

Even better, you can begin to narrow down your search. Let’s say that you have a penchant for the rustic style, simply click on the ‘rustic’ suggestion and begin narrowing down your search to rustic interior design.

You can then create your own personal board; maybe call it “Home Design Inspiration”. Pin everything that you like to that board and you’ll have your own little reference point for everything you like! It will even start giving you suggestions of other things you may like.

2. HOUZZ

Houzz is everything to do with houses and design, they’ll help you find quality service providers, provide excellent advice and have a plethora of images for design inspiration in their ‘photos’ section.

Their image section allows you to view everything that’s new, upcoming and modern in the interior design world. You can filter by room type, style, budget and room size, allowing you to find the inspiration that’s more applicable to your requirements.

3.AirBNB

This is a real sneaky little tip that allows you to see what’s going on in the market, in any location that takes your fancy.

Create yourself an account for AirBNB and search for any location that takes your fancy. Filter the search results by the most expensive first (the most expensive results are often the most modern, stylish designs) and browse through the pictures!

It doesn’t just have to be in your area. Are you a fan of Parisian fashion? Take a browse through Paris’s top AirBNB properties and see how they’re styled. California? Berlin? There’s beautiful design in every capitol.

Doesn’t have to just be AirBNB, try other property websites and search in the similar fashion, like Zoopla and Rightmove.

4.Ideal Home Magazine

If you’re less digitally inclined and prefer to sit back, relax and flick through the pages of the latest magazine, then a great selection is Ideal Home magazine. The magazine focuses on, as you may have guessed, your ideal home, with a huge range of different styles and décors to choose from and to get inspiration from.

If you’re inspired by the magazine (or any other home magazine), you can then pop online to their website and see a great range of designs, divided up by room of the house or even styles.

5. Restaurants

New restaurants are often ahead of the curve when it comes to interior design. If recently built or renovated, there’s a good chance that they’ve hired their own interior designers and are already styled to hit the latest trends and styles. In addition, a key consideration of hospitality establishment redesigns is to ensure the greatest longevity from the design and durability of the materials.
